Learn how to decorate your apartment with Pantone’s 2018 Color Of The Year- Ultraviolet- into your apartment!

Pantone just announced 2018’s Color Of The Year, and it’s definitely a bold choice. The color is called Ultraviolet, and it is a very bright color that really stands out no matter where it’s used. While it’s a little harder than most colors to incorporate into your interior design, it can be done and look great! If you love the color and are interested in learning the best ways to add bold purple accents throughout your apartment, take a look at our list!

Bedroom

If you already love purple and want to use it as much as possible in your apartment, start with the bedroom! Paint one accent wall in a bright ultraviolet shade, and match with a purple comforter. The comforter should include others colors within the pattern, so the room isn’t purple-overload. Although with pops of neutrals throughout the decor the pop of color will work seamlessly. A room full of bright violet shades also pairs well with all black and white decor, making the purple stand out even more in the best way possible.

Living Room

When used correctly, purple walls and furniture can look very modern and trendy. The trick is to make sure different shades of purple are used through the room, with lighter colored-walls and deeper, bluer toned furniture pieces. Be sure to include pops of white and neutrals, so the violet isn’t overpowering, but a purple living room is a unique option everyone should try to bring some fun and color into their home!

One Accent Piece

If you’re really not into the idea of a completely purple room, don’t worry- a signature accent piece will do! A standout piece, such as a great purple couch, will add a great burst of color to your apartment. For an even smaller decorative piece, try an area rug in the middle of the room. While you may think it would be hard to decorate around a purple focal point, it’s actually pretty easy. Purple goes with varying hues from its color family, including plum, lavender, navy, rose, and red-purple colors.
