Perhaps the best way to make new friends is to find people with common interests, and the easiest way to do that is to join and seek out groups or institutions that cater to your hobbies and interests. Whether it’s an art museum, an amateur sports team, or a book club there’s almost certainly going to be a least one local institution that will have things that interest you, and in turn help you meet others with the same interests.
