Check out our three tips for hosting overnight guests in your small apartment.

Hosting friends and family for the weekend can be a fun time, but it can also be stressful for those who live in small apartments. We all want our guests to feel as comfortable as possible, and you may feel as though your home is too cramped and cluttered. However, with some effort, you can make the experience enjoyable for everyone! Continue reading for four tips for hosting overnight guests in your small apartment.

Air Mattress or Pull-Out Couch

The most important item to have when hosting overnight guests is a comfortable place for them to sleep. A pull-out couch is an excellent investment for a small apartment, as it is fully functional for your everyday life and provides guests with a bed when they visit! However, if you already have a regular couch in your apartment, consider investing in a high-quality air mattress.

In addition to having somewhere for guests to sleep, it’s essential to make the space as cozy as you can! Have a clean pair of sheets ready for guests, and provide them with plenty of blankets and pillows.

Make The Living Room Sleep-Friendly

If you have space in your living room or common room for guests to sleep, do your best to make the area as sleep-friendly as possible. This includes positioning their bed (couch or air mattress) close to a lamp or light switch. Also, draw the curtains or blinds to block out light from your street, or provide them with an eye mask. Other thoughtful touches such as a fan, power strip, earplugs, or white noise machine will help your guests feel more at home!

Bathroom Necessities

One of the more challenging aspects of hosting guests in a small apartment is the sharing of the bathroom. Give the bathroom a good clean before your friends or family members arrive, and put away any items that you don’t want out in the open. Show them how to turn on the shower, where you keep extra toilet paper and leave out a few clean towels. It’s also a good idea to stock up on necessities, such as toothpaste, mini bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, and any other items you know they will use.
